Live: Odeon Cinema, Southport

8.00pm, Friday 1 March 1963 (48 years ago)

The Helen Shapiro tour of the United Kingdom continued with this date in Southport, Lancashire.

The Beatles returned to the venue later in the year, for six consecutive nights of concerts from Monday 26 to Saturday 31 August.

The Odeon closed as a cinema in 1979. The building fell into decline and the following summer it was demolished to make way for a Sainsbury's supermarket.
